Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional display), date of birth
• Profile information: photos, bio, location, languages, skills, experience level
• Activity data: casting call applications, audition invites, messages within the platform
• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (for security and analytics)

2. How we use your data

• To operate the platform and match actors with casting opportunities
• To verify casting accounts before granting access
• To send you notifications about audition invites and application updates
• To investigate reports of fraud, harassment, or policy violations
• To improve the platform and fix technical issues

3. Your phone number

Your phone number is hidden by default. It is never shared with casting directors unless you explicitly choose to make it visible. All initial contact happens through the FirstTake platform.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with:

• Verified casting directors: your public profile information when you apply to their casting calls or when they browse the platform
• Supabase (database): our database and authentication provider, hosted in Singapore
• Cloudinary (media): our media storage provider for photos and videos
• Law enforcement: only when required by law or to prevent harm

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from your profile settings at any time — your profile data, photos, videos, applications, and messages are permanently deleted when you do. Application records may be retained in anonymised form for platform analytics.

6. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@firsttake.in. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication sessions and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

8. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Database access is protected by row-level security. Media uploads are stored via Cloudinary with signed URLs. We conduct regular security reviews.

For privacy questions or data requests, contact us at privacy@firsttake.in. For complaints about content, conduct, or data handling, our Grievance Officer can be reached at grievance@firsttake.in. Grievances are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
